How To Be Safe On A First Date

1. Go out with a group. it's safe to have other people around for a first meeting. Bring along mutual friends.

2. Meet at a public place. If you don't have any friends on common, make sure you're first date is somewhere with a lot of people around. Think of a movie theater, bowling alley, restaurant or amusement park.

3. Avoid having your date pick you up or drop you off at your house. It's not a good idea until you know the person better to give him your address.

4. Use your own vehicle to get around. This includes to and from the date, along with any additional stops you just both make. It;s isn't safe to ride alone in a car with someone you just met.

5. You're sending the message that the first date is for meeting and getting to know each other. It give you some control.

6. Tell a friend where you're going and who're meeting. Someone should always know where you are how to get a hold of you. Have your friend call while you're on the date to make sure you're okay.
